LOL @ buying 3 copies of a game just to piss people off, pissing people off is perfectly free. All you have to do is go outside when there's like, an important soccer match, take your remote control and wake your way past all the houses to switch channels on alien TV sets ^^.

Lawlz @ missing the point by the span of several football fields.

I don't do it TO piss them off... that is just a bonus.
I just happened to realise that using Edge of Extinction on Fort Aspenwood gets everyone more kills.... thus more faction points all round (and since Kurzicks spawn far closer within the fort, it takes less time to replenish the defending force than the attacking force, and thus the Kurzicks have a higher chance of coming out the better).

For what it is worth.... I'm not the guy at the front with the sword and shield, charging in and hitting things...
I'm the guy at the back, on the horse, with the cane.... who spent all of last night moving around models on a map.

I'm a tactician... not a warrior.
I have a nasty tendency to get gubbed if I actually throw myself into the fight.

The absolute classic was when trying to get my Canthan Grandmaster Cartographer title and unlocking the "mists" island in the fight with Shiro... I spent ages trying to round up a group of PuGs that all had higher health than me.... absolutely refusing to take any Heroes or Henchies that had less (though I had to make underhanded excuses to get them to agree) ....
And eventually I managed it.

When we got into the fight.... I sprinted ahead at the start, leaving them behind.... stripped all my armour off... and ran around Shiro Naked until I got banished. I actually had to do this twice to get enough of the Mists island.... Needless to say the group lost and the wammos (they were mostly wammos) were not amused.... but I couldn't care less! It was their own stupid fault for falling for my cunning plan!

That reminds me of another incident...
I went into Vizunah Square with an assassin that had been bugging me repeatedly to let him join my team (I was playing my necro).... and we noticed that other team was all asian and entirely human.... AND... they weren't picking up their gear.
... Well... we got to the next-to-last fight... the big one... and I flagged my heroes and henchies in the middle and then ran back to the first area to loot all their gear. Sure enough I totally packed out my inventory... including a whole ton of Putrid Cysts (which I'd been collecting anyway).... and gradually made my way back, collecting all I could on the way.
Naturally that fight had been won quite easily with my heroes helping, but they were left behind when the asians and the annoying assassin went to the last fight... I heard one of them comment in English that I was gone... and they only noticed after the fight...
... And I laughed at them when Togo died, just as I reached my flagged heroes and henchies... ^_^ ... Serves 'em right for not picking up their loot... [and serves that one assassin right for bugging me so much].

Yeah... I can be a total bastard sometimes... if I feel like it.... but I usually have ulterior motives; not just doing it out of spite.
Note to Self: Never ever PUG with Soti.

I've had a couple bad experiences with FoW groups. My guildies and I tend to have to pick up 3-4 people anytime we go depending on how many of us are playing. More often than not its just 4 of us, so we need four more usually. Could 4 man it: dervish,2 eles, and a monk, but its just so much slower.

Anyway, my bad experiences tend to be with rangers and warriors. Ended up with a 'forest solo' ranger one time. I got the greatest kick out of letting her die. Some funny shit.

Another time we ended up with a warrior that aggroed everything within the damn compass and refused to slow down, just kept going. His personal heals were the only thing keepin him alive b/c I sure as hell wasn't wasting my energy on him and neither was the other monk; we were very happy when he finally left.

Does this make me not want to PuG anymore? Not really. There are a lot of assholes out there, but there are some really great people too so I guess it balances itself out over time. I just remember to keep names of people that I refuse to play with in the future.

Oh, and as for having SS on you, try monking FoW. You can't always remove it because you're too busy healing everybody else. I tend to bring dwaynas kiss for the healing boost when hexes or enchanted, seems to work just fine. I rarely lose a warrior fighting thru SS. Besides, hex removal takes too damn long, someone else could die in that 3 seconds. (Have u ever used Kiss on a fully enchanted dervish? 450+ healing, talk about overkill)

I had a guild member mention this in guild chat a couple of weeks ago... My response and the response of the officers online was simple, "Why are you pugging when there are 23 guildies online?"

Simple and effective i thought

Although, on the other hand, pugging is a good way of recruiting though, finding good players in a team and by the end of the run, seeing your guild cape on them is always a nice site

Oh, I'm not that bad. ^_^ ... I often help people get Masters on Canthan missions just because they said something that amused me...

And I have the major weakness of being unable to lie....
Hence.... if you ended up teamed up with one of my characters and asked me directly if I intended to leave you to die.... if I said "No" or equivalent then it would be perfectly safe! ^_^ ...

... O'course if I conveniently neglected to answer, then it would be time to find another group! =D

~~~~
.... Then again.... there is also my tyrannical "enforced leadership" position that I sometimes take while PuGing...
I usually bring at least one or two of my Heroes around... and typically it either makes up half the party... OR contains the party's only monks. As such... the rest of the party has to go where I go and do what I want to.... or they are basically screwed...
I don't do that too often... but sometimes if I'm doing the same quest as a bunch of PuGs... I'll drag them through all the other quests in the same area too.... >=D ...
It gets even more fun with my Monk character. As was noted earlier.... there is the whole Unyielding Aura thing.
If someone decides they aren't going to go where I go... and instead go and get themselves killed... I'll come back just to res them with Unyielding Aura. Woe betide anyone then who decides to move out of maintained enchantment range... ^_^
In case you can't tell.... I'm not fond of PuGs.... I especially dislike Wammos.... They're a bunch of loose cannons.
When I do have to put up with them, I expect a strict and coordinated party, and if nobody else leads effectively then I will take over by force.
On the other hand... when I'm teamed up with a genuinely good leader... I'm their best friend out there on the battlefield... I'm just as good at taking orders as giving them, provided the person giving the orders knows what they're doing (and isn't just drawing pen!ses on the compass).
At least it's original, gotta give him that.
Roll a burning arrow ranger, post yourself high and dry on the wall and fire away. Seriously it's too much fun especially in aspenwood.
And works a charm.... unless there are ritualists around that don't like what I'm doing, and can selectively "eat" Edge of Extinction. I hate it when they do that. I've had it from both sides... On the other hand, a friendly ritualist Spirit Spammer lining up offensive spirits along the wall only adds to the strength of my tactics! =D
Yup... Nutty as a fruitcake and fruity as a nutcake.... erm...
... Reminds me of when Gay Davey used to call me a c0ck-tease... but I don't show my camp streak to just anyone... <_< ... >_> ...
Wait.. what was I talking about again?
Burning Arrow Ranger? ...
Does that involve Greater Conflagration (or indeed any sort of conflagration)? ... I know that spirit well enough! ^_^;; ...
Actually... I'd considered trying a splinter-barrage ranger.... but I'm not sure how useful that would be. I'd also considered a Necro / Mesmer with Blood and Illusion to degen turtles to death...
But as it happens... I love just dropping the spirits and then running right up to face the enemy and shoot arrows in their face... I only need get them below 90% health... They kill me (I use all Superior Runes)... EoE tends to do the rest if there are other fighters in the area... They all seem so clueless most of the time... ^_^
I do a similar thing with my characters. I much prefer my monk heros to be used over any other random player's (this excludes alliance members) because too many times people have stuck their lvl 18 tahlkora on and picged her build... Oh, another one using 4 10-energy spells, one of which being Healing Breeze. The Dunkoro with Retribution was the funniest! I generally like to take my Hero monks over real monks a lot of the time. Real monks leave half way through...they're NOT to be trusted. Healing rits, however, that's a different story...
Healing Rits? ... Yeah... when they're good they're VERY good... but it all messes up if you move! ^_^;; ... Ritualists are great when you have to stay in one place, but in rapid-run missions they tend to make things awkward.
On another related note... I've had people question my choice of healing skills on Tahlkora before (and to some extent Dunkoro's as well)... particularly relating to my having a lot of healing spells for "Allies" on her list.
If they even bothered to look at what Olias is doing... they'd understand.
For that matter... now Razah does something similar...
Why set Razah up as a Restoration rit when he makes a perfectly capable Minion Bomber? I remember checking Olias and Razah the other day somewhere out in Vabbi.... and between them they had 18 Minions...
[Ok, so he seems a bit reluctant to keep his three enchantments up before running into battle if I don't specifically order him to use them... but aside from that he is great at it!] ...
... Enough to donate to my "Fiery Dragon Swords for N00b Wammos" Fund? It makes for a good, cheap laugh whenever I get a Fiery Dragon Sword to run over to Shing Jea Island or Ascalon and find a total newb wammo with a 1-figure IQ to give an FDS to in a really patronising way... Ascalonion ones can be bought over quite easily by telling them they can be just like Rurik!
We must keep the stereotypes alive! (That we can continue to mock them)
